Installing Air Conditioning in a Home Renovation
Retrofitting air conditioning into older homes presents a unique set of challenges. You have to deal with limited space, unusual room configurations and homeowners’ desire for aesthetically pleasing solutions that complement their renovated interior design.
This project was no exception. The team at Eaglereach Mechanical were contacted by a customer undertaking a house renovation who wanted an air conditioning solution to keep their home cool during the summer months. A key priority for the client was that the installation should be discreet and aesthetically pleasing, ensuring that the overall look of their newly renovated property was not compromised.

The Challenges
- No Wall-Mounted Units
The customer was very clear that they did not want any wall-mounted units in their home. To achieve this, our team designed a system using two ducted units, one for each floor of the property. This would allow for efficient cooling across multiple rooms while keeping everything concealed. - Limited Space for Installation
Another consideration was space. The property had limited room available for the indoor fan coil units and flexible ducting, meaning our engineers needed to carefully plan and design the installation to ensure a seamless fit within the available ceiling voids and joists.
The Solution from Eaglereach Mechanical
As the property was still under construction, we were able to carry out the installation with minimal disruption, ensuring all pipework and units were fully concealed. To deliver a premium finish, we also installed made-to-order plaster-in linear bar grilles. These grilles sit flush with the ceiling, blending seamlessly into the interior design for a high-end look.
The Outcome: A Perfect Blend of Comfort and Style
The client is now enjoying a comfortable home environment with improved cooling during the summer months. The ducted system delivers quiet operation, ensuring comfort without disturbance, and the addition of Wi-Fi compatibility allows the customer to control the system easily using the Panasonic Comfort Cloud app.
The result is a beautifully cooled home with no visible wall units, maintaining the sleek aesthetic the client wanted while providing efficient and effective temperature control.

If you’re renovating your home, now is the perfect time to integrate a new air conditioning system that can deliver cool, quiet performance without affecting your design.
